Trivia Night 2018

Trivia Night for the Montessori was on February third. This year our table theme was The Breakfast Club. We also have to tie that theme into food so there were pixie sticks and Cap’n Crunch on bread and some sushi to boot. We didn’t win anything this year, but as always, we had a lot […]

Things that were on my desk at some point today

A clementine (it was delicious). This book (the author was 16 when it was published). My friend’s engagement ring (the diamond was her grandmother’s). Matches from a bar I have not visited, but props for the cocktail recipe inside (Thanks DJ)!

My friend Brown played percussion at the International Women’s Brass Conference at NKU. I don’t often get to see her play out so this was a treat, doubly so because of the program itself. Folks playing offstage and around the performance hall always intrigues me, and the music selections were lively and evocative. Standing ovation.

Snapped this with the camera on my lap while The Brown up and gave an excellent recital. She’d been working on these pieces for months and it was evident, much to the collective chagrin of me and her friends who have been ribbing her all this time. She was excellent.
