A bit autumny

Spring Grove is pretty fantastic in the fall. (And for the record, I tried to edit the photo to look more like it did in real life. ;-)

Xanthophylls

Thing I learned on the internet this morning: Though the yellow color is present in the leaf throughout the growing season, chlorophyll masks the pigments known as xanthophylls. This hue becomes visible when the green chlorophyll is gone.

All the colors

These leaves look just fine without any editing.

A little bit of color left

Didn’t quite miss all the tones of autumn. But today felt like winter was soon approaching. Time to pack up the short sleeves.

I turned the car around for this one because, well, there just aren’t that many leaves left with vibrant color.
