Again with a touch of serendipity and luck, caught Mike Perry talk about his work
over lunch at Hyperakt (which was chock full of good folks in a sweet space out in Brooklyn.)

I’ve followed Mike in a non-creepy way for a while, we have his Hand Job book on the
inspiration shelf at the studio, and I’ve always been enamored by the joy he seems to put into his work.

His talk was loose and funny, outlining vocations and process. His mode of operation
seems to be removing stress from life, and making stuff as much as possible. Like, all the time.

A damn good approach.

In fact, I should stop blathering and just go make something now.
I’m writing this from a Saturday in Ohio and it is totally sunny outside.

As luck would have it, I’d see Tina the next day on her turf. Flew out to spend a few days
talking internet possibilities with Fictive Cameron.

Soon as I landed, the visual goodness of New York began to poke me in the eyes from every direction,
like this knitted bike cozy down in Dumbo.

The evening began at the Say Media 100 launch and ended in a blur over some stiff drinks named Penicillin
which I am filing into the cautious category for future restraint.

I can’t tell if this chair is sad, or just plumb tuckered out.

celebrate her blog’s fifth birthday.

This trip went by too fast.

Halloween in Brooklyn was a spirited affair.
(Not that this image would suggest anything of that order, but I’m saving up all the others for a big curatorial session.)

Man I can’t stop replaying this performance in my head.
