Whiskey 2.75

The Clifton Players have started having performances at the Liberty Exhibition Hall in Northside. According to my friend Dan, this was the Liberty Theatre (1909). It closed in 1929 and has pretty much housed a restaurant off and on over the years and was also home to the Greater Cincinnati Deaf Club. A bit more […]

Random snapshots around the city

Ft. Mitchell Kroger getting some maintenance. Covington, KY as seen from the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge. Low Spark, new joint for a cocktail in OTR. Union Terminal on the way home.

Bar cart

All the liquor that I’ve stashed in kitchen cabinets and on top of the fridge now has a home, and I’m pretty much giddy about the reclaimed space.

Future bourbon bar

Pretty excited about The Littlefield. Their words: “A neighborhood bar specializing in Bourbon cocktails and regional craft beer paired with great food, art and cultural offerings.” Yes to all of that. (Plus? Patio!) Bonus view of Northside from a totally difference vantage:

Droopy

I’m merely documenting a peculiarity of fashion among a small percentage of youthful men today. Thing is, my lack of ass makes this a side effect I try and overcome. Thus my love of suspenders.

Happy hour

A sunny happy hour to close out the week. Crossed paths earlier in the day with Brian from Steam Whistle. Made a mental note to stop in sometime. Skelton the dog contemplates life, who played that song on the jukebox, and if anyone has a snack.

Igby’s

Stopped in to drop off keys for a friend and checked out the new(?) joint called Igby’s downtown. This vaulted ceiling with dropped lights was nice for the upward gaze.

A late happy hour

The week wraps up and it was time for a bourbon, and judging from the bar at happy hour, it looks like Mardi Gras is coming up. They always have impressive decorations at Rosie’s Tavern. I wonder where they find room to store them. Another view walking around the neighborhood in Covington.
