Film Schooled

My friend Russ and his friend Marcus have an idea for a TV Show: Film Schooled. In their words “Film Schooled puts two aspiring teen filmmakers in a head-to-head competition to see who can produce the best film in one short weekend.” They filmed a pilot and put it in front of an audience up a [...]

127 Hours

What I said the morning after: “Never seen a movie that pushed me to the edge of passing out and vomiting, until last night. Seriously. That was 127 Hours.” # (Quick summary: man hikes into Utah canyon alone, arm gets trapped under boulder, lives 5 days on pretty much just a bottle of water, frees [...]

Black Swan kind of freaked me out

But then again, so did Requiem for a Dream so I should know better when I catch a Darren Aronofsky film. Don’t get me wrong, I thought this Black Swam movie was excellent. Just so darn nerve-wracking.

Handmade Nation at the CAC

Toy Story 3 at the drive-in

A double feature at the Holiday Auto Theatre: Toy Story 3 (so excellent) and that vampire Eclipse New Moon thing (notsogood). An odd pairing, but a perfect evening for the drive-in.

As seen on TV

Ran over to the drugstore to get some cash out because I didn’t know the independent movie house took credit cards. Skipped the Valentine cards and perused the As Seen On TV aisle before catching A Single Man. Melancholy flick, beautifully appointed.
