White Night Bike Tour

Friday, May 25, 2012

If you do happen to find yourself in St. Petersburg, seek out Peter’s Tours. They offer walking, boat and bike tours. We chose the latter. Since the sun barely sets this time of year, our bike tour began at 11pm and went into the wee hours of the morning. The benefit is that you have the streets largely to yourself. It’s the best way to see the city.

Our guide was awesome, with great English and insights to buildings and history, politics and attitudes.

An excellent and fun diversion.

Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood

Trinity Bridge

Neva River

Peter and Paul Fortress across the way

Palace Square

Felix Dzerzhinsky

Smolny Cathedral

Me casually looking into my bag and jumping.

The apartment in the alley where the whole trip began.
