Fallingwater

You sadly can’t take photos inside Fallingwater, but I totally understand why. Lots of people tour through this home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Kaufmann family, so it would cause quite a hold-up if there were any amount of shutterbugs.

Now I had been to Taliesin West back when I was out in Phoenix at a rodeo with my brother, and it was nice enough. The logic was all there, but you could tell it was constructed with a modest budget.

Fallingwater seems to be the culmination of a lot of far-out thinking—the kind that benefits from a bigger investment.

Long and short: I was tickled by every detail.

I want to go back and see the place in every season.

These steps that led down into the water and formed the basis of natural air-conditioning.
A glass hatch slides open to cover the steps on the inside.
